DATAKOM BATTERY CHARGER

Datakom SMPS, BC and SBC series battery chargers are intended to charge generator start batteries and to provide stabilized DC power supply for Datakom controllers and other electronic devices. Depending on model the chargers are compatible with 12V or 24 V batteries and be mounted on DIN rail or directly inside of generator control box. All devices have shortcut circuit protection to keep it alive after starter motor usage.

SMPS Series Battery Charger

DATAKOM SMPS series battery chargers are fixed output voltage, current limited lead acid and Nickel-Cadmium battery chargers specially designed for permanent connection to genset starter batteries. They maintain the batteries fully charged, without overcharging or gassing. Thanks to their continuous DC outputs they may also be used in a vide range of industrial applications where DC power is required. When the battery voltage is below the float charge level, the charger provides constant current, nearly equal to the rated output current allowing a rapid recovery of the missing charge. When the battery voltage reaches the float level, the charger switches to constant voltage charge mode and maintains the battery fully charged, providing the maximum battery life. The chargers are designed in switchmode technology. Their rugged design allows surviving in harsh electromagnetic environments found in automotive industry. The unit has overload and short circuit protections. This feature makes the units deliver only the rated current during engine cranking or a short circuit condition. They do not need disconnection during cranking.

BC Series Battery Charger

DATAKOM BC series are state of the art battery chargers featuring very high efficiency and low cost in a compact DIN rail mounted plastic package. Chargers are designed to withstand high levels of disturbances found in the harsh automotive environment. Chargers are practically impossible to destroy, having overload, short circuit, high temperature and reverse battery protections. The overload protection is current limiting type, not hiccup. Hiccup protected chargers will turn-off in case of overload and will be incapable of charging an empty battery with their rated current. In case of a short circuit or overload condition, the BC charger does not shut-off, and delivers simply the rated current, allowing a full-speed charge of an empty battery. In case of overheating, the charger will automatically reduce its output current and continue normal operation.
