There is a need for a reliable alternative source today where electricity consumers are supplied with electricity from the grid. The most common cost-effective alternative sources for industrial and non-industrial applications are gasoline, diesel and gas generator engines.
When disconnecting the grid if the diesel generator needs to be automatically switched on and power on the consumers, it is necessary to have special controllers in called Auto Mains Failure (AMF). The operation steps of these controllers are as follows:
- On line sampling and measuring of grid electricity and controlling the fault there
- Diesel generator start command if there is a fault in the mains power supply
- Sampling and measurement of mechanical parameters (such as oil pressure, water temperature, etc.) and electrical parameters (such as frequency, voltage, etc.) of diesel generators.
- If the above parameters are stable, AMF Controller sends the load transfer command in order to transfer the load from mains to diesel generator by opening the Mains Circuit Breaker(MCB) and then closing the Generator Circuit Breaker(GCB).
- If the mains returns and stabilizes, the AMF controller sends the load transfer command again in order to transfer the load from diesel generator to mains by opening the Generator Circuit Breaker(GCB) and then closing the Mains Circuit Breaker(MCB).
- After this step the diesel generator enters the cooling phase and after the specified time the AMF controller issues the engine shutdown command.
Technical Specifications of DATAKOM Auto Mains Failure:
- Three phase / single phase sampling of mains and generator
- Connection via CAN Bus and J1939 to ECU’s engine
- Protection of electrical and mechanical parameters of diesel generator
- Logging of diesel generator operating conditions and conditions
- Easy operator connection with controller
- Digital and analog inputs and outputs for connecting various equipment to the controller
DATAKOM Manual and Remote Start (MRS)
In applications where there is no mains power supply for the consumer and diesel generator is used for this purpose, it is necessary to use a controller to turn the engine on / off and protect it, which is called Manual and Remote Start(MRS) controller.
The operation steps of these controllers are as follows:
- Operator startup of diesel generator by operator from controller or remotely through device input terminals
- Sampling and measurement of mechanical parameters (such as oil pressure, water temperature, etc.) and electrical parameters (such as frequency, voltage, etc.) diesel generators
- If the above parameters are stable, the command of closing the GCB issues and feeding the load
- GCB switch off command issues from controller or remotely through device input terminals
- After this step the diesel generator enters the cooling phase and after the specified time the controller issues the shutdown command.
Specifications of DATAKOM Manual and Remote Start:
- Three phase / single phase generator sampling
- Connection via CAN Bus and J1939 to ECU’s engine
- Protection of electrical and mechanical parameters of diesel generator
- Logging of diesel generator operating conditions and conditions
- Easy operator connection with controller
- Digital and analog inputs and outputs for connecting various equipment to the controller.
Battery Charger
DATAKOM SMPS series are fixed output voltage, current limited lead acid battery chargers specially designed for permanent connection to genset starter batteries.
They maintain the batteries fully charged, without overcharging or gassing. Thanks to their continuous DC outputs they may also be used in a vide range of industrial applications where DC power is required.
When the battery voltage is below the float charge level, the charger provides constant current, nearly equal to the rated output current allowing a rapid recovery of the missing charge. When the battery voltage reaches the float level, the charger switches to constant voltage charge mode and maintains the battery fully charged, providing the maximum battery life.
Collaborate with OCI Company
